| Q: Did they obey God's command? | 4/12 |
| No. They choose to live their own way rather than God’s way. | |
"When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her and he ate it." (Genesis 3:6) |
| Q: What was the consequence of their disobedience? | 5/12 |
| Once sin entered the world it affected everyone who has ever lived. | |
"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned." (Romans 5:12) |
| Q: What was the consequence of their disobedience? | 6/12 |
| God is gracious and merciful, he is also just. God cannot let sin go unpunished. | |
"The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished." (Numbers 14:18a) |
| Q: How can we receive God's forgiveness? | 7/12 |
| God calls man to repent. Repenting means to no longer be rebellious. | |
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19) |
| Q: How can we receive God's forgiveness? | 8/12 |
| God made a way back to him for those who repent. God promised that someday a person would come to earth who would win a glorious victory over sin and death. That person was Jesus Christ. He would restore lost mankind to fellowship with God. |
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:16-17) |
| Q: Who is Jesus? | 9/12 |
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Jesus lived an absolutely perfect life. |
"This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17b) |
Jesus's gift to man. |
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) |
| Q: What if we do accept Jesus's gift? | 10/12 |
God will forgive all our sins. |
| "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." (Isaiah 1:18b) | |
| Q: What if we don't accept Jesus's gift? | 11/12 |
We are still under God's judgement. |
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." (John 3:18) |
