Zimbabwe—Word of freedom
Shingira, from Zimbabwe, had never known God’s love or salvation. When he attended a Bible study his eyes were opened to the truth and he asked Jesus to save him.
“The Lord has saved me,” says Shingira. “I am a child of God. I am fresh and free. Even today I am singing glory hallelujah, Jesus set me free.”
In the past year, Zimbabwe has plummeted into socio-economic turmoil. Chronic food shortages have swept through the country and it’s estimated that 80 percent of Zimbabweans are unemployed. People are hungry for hope, for freedom and a future.
Last December, Bible League asked for your help in providing more than 10,000 Bibles and New Testaments for ministry in Zimbabwe. Thanks specifically to your generous gifts, Bible League has been able to place 15,636 New Testaments and 12,326 Bibles into the hands of seekers. Praise God! Through providing God’s Word you have changed lives for eternity—lives like Shingira’s.
Through Bible League’s ministry people have come to know the loving assurance of Christ amidst the instability of their country.
“The Church remains the only lifeline in Zimbabwe,” Bible League’s National Director in Zimbabwe says. “People are praying for the country much more than ever before and there is revival.” |
