A
Bible League-trained Church Planter and his son were beaten on 28 July 2006 in Kara Kuldza, Kyrgyzstan by a mob of 80 people. The mob left the Church Planter with severe head injuries and broken fingers. They ransacked his home and the building where the church met. According to AKI Press News Agency, an investigation underway by the MVD—Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs—reported that “unknown individuals gathered all the books with religious content and burned them in the street.”
“Where new churches have been established, our leaders have encountered threats,” says the National Director. “The methods are the same. An angry mob, led by a radical Islamic cleric, enters a worship service or the home of a Church Planter. They are told to stop all religious activities and to leave—or their church and home will be burned. They also threaten to defile the wife and children. Several wives of the Church Planters have been raped.”
“Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence.
I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."
