mitri wanted to find out more about God. A Bible League-trained worker had come to Dmitri’s village. He talked about God and a special book, the Bible. Dmitri had to obtain this ‘book’.
“About 20 young people began to study the Bible together,” remembers Dmitri. “When I read the verse in John 8 about being a ‘slave to sin’, I questioned the severity of those words. I thought, I’m only 16, how can I be a slave to anything?” To prove the verse wrong, he determined that he would not sin for one month. When he failed within the first hour, Dmitri realised he was dealing with the truth and accepted Jesus as his Saviour.
Today, Dmitri and his wife lead a congregation in Russia. The area they minister in is rife with persecution, sorcery, shamanism and alcoholism. In 1995, there were no believers in this area. Now, every morning 20 people meet with Dmitri. They pray that others will know the freedom they have received.
You can help more people like Dmitri to seek the message written in the "book" that will lead them to Jesus. With your help, there will be more people in Russia praying with Dmitri and other Christians every morning!
