Van, from Vietnam, who is only 10 years old, was living a difficult life. When he was very young, his father abandoned the family, leaving them emotionally broken and impoverished.
“My mother had to start work as a housekeeper and my brother and I always felt lonely and sad,” says Van. Stress and sorrow soon developed into health problems for young Van. His mother, believing in traditional spirit worship like many other Southeast Asians, made Van wear an amulet around his neck to fight the evil spirits she thought were making him sick.
"...now my entire family worship the Lord!”
One afternoon, Van and his brother met a Bible League-trained Christian who invited them to a children’s Bible study held after school.
“We studied and read the Bible,” says Van. “We could understand more clearly about the Gospel of the Lord Jesus. The Christian told me to remove the amulet from around my neck, and she prayed for me.
'I regained my strength and from that day until now I am always in good health. This miracle took place in front of my mother and now my entire family worship the Lord!”
