Before I committed my life to Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, I was a dangerous man. I lived in war all my life and I had no reason to want to live. I always wished that I would die—that was until seven months ago when I met Jesus through God's Word.
As a soldier in Sudan, my job was to kill. The Project Philip Bible study program was brought into my barracks. One of the commanders who attended the study group asked me to accompany him. They were studying Steps to Victory.
I sat down and listened to the Bible study. By the time it was over, I was burning inside. Something touched my heart and I began to cry as I confessed my sins. The person sitting next to me sensed my agony and he asked the leader of the group to pray for me. After the prayer, I felt such a great relief. God restored my life that day. —Alex, Project Philip Bible study graduate
In 2006, Bible League was able to penetrate into six army barracks and establish more than forty Project Philip Bible study groups. Through this God has led over one thousand soldiers to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and they were all baptised.

"The people walking in darkeness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of shadow of death
a light has dawned ."

Sudan remains one of the most difficult places to do ministry. For over 50 years, there were brutal, intensive attempts to remove all Christian presence. Despite physical dangers, God's church is being rebuilt. Christians in Sudan need God's Word to continue to grow into maturity and to sustain them in their walk with God.
