2007 marks the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the first Christian missionary in China. Robert Morrison set foot on Chinese soil in 1807, embracing God’s call on his life. Today, there are over 80 million Christians living in China—and the number grows daily by thousands. However, fewer than half have a Bible.
Bible League works with local Chinese Christians who are indebted to mission trailblazers like Morrison. Last year, Bible League was able to place 1,152,344 Scriptures in China but there are still over 50 million Christians in China who don't have a Bible.
"Please come back to help us," they say. Christians in China are thirsty for God's Word.
Bible League's WALK4BIBLES program this year focuses on providing Scriptures in China. Christians in 7 cities around Australia unite to walk to place God's Word in China. To date, current donations (up to July 2007) have provided 16,370 Bibles for China.

Since 1999, China remains one of the "country of particular concern" for severe violations of religious freedom, according to the International Religious Freedom Report.*
Repression of unregistered churches, particularly in remote areas, continue to be widely reported. Christians in these isolated communities need God's Word to sustain their faith. We invite you to join us in providing Scriptures to persecuted Christians in China. |
