Through Bible League’s church planter training, thousands of churches are established each year by local Christians who have a heart for evangelism and discipleship.

Church planters are chosen by their church leaders, empowered through practical church planter training and resourced with Scripture materials to establish a church in an unchurched area. They provide God’s Word to those who want it. They follow them up, answering questions and discipling new Christians. They bring new believers together to form a church where new believers can grow, use their gifts and reach out to others.

Bible League’s Church Planter Training takes place over one to two years and consists of five modules of training. These modules are organised into practical “learn and do” cycles so that church planters can immediately put what they’ve learnt into practice. The modules include evangelism, discipleship, membership, leadership and worship.

Last year, 3,702 church planters were trained through Bible League’s ministry and 5,766 new churches were established.

Maina, one of the church planters in Kenya, found that Bible League’s church planter training was a great help to his ministry.

“I was like a shepherd without skills, like a blind man leading through the forest,” he says. “But now I am capable of preaching and leading with success.”

Chanlina, from Cambodia, says she came to know Christ through a Bible League church planter.

“She (the church planter) came to visit my family and shared with us the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ,” she says. “At that time I did not agree with her, for I believed in Buddhism. Finally, after I continued to study with her, I understood and I decided to follow Jesus as my Lord and Saviour that day. Since I believed, my life has changed. I feel I am a new person who was reborn. Praise the Lord!”
