“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” 1 Peter 1:23
Dear Friends,
While I was in Darwin last week I had the opportunity to meet with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Dave and Kathy Glasgow. They recently conducted Bible League’s Project Philip Bible studies with the Burarra people in the Northern Territory. They have found these studies to be incredibly helpful and encouraging for the Burarra Christians.
Since 1962, the Glasgows have been translating God’s Word into indigenous languages. I felt so inspired by their work, their dedication and their perseverance. They truly understand the importance of the Bible.
In his letter, the Apostle Peter reflects upon the uniqueness of God’s Word—it’s a solid foundation, yet able to change lives. As you’ll read in this week’s Enews, God’s Word is also transforming the lives of indigenous people in Ghana—especially when they read the Bible in their heart language or mother tongue.
You’ll also read about the growth in WALK4BIBLES events across Australia, providing Bibles for persecuted Christians. It’s good to know that in spite of all obstructions, God’s Word will endure!
Every Blessing,
Grahame Smith
