Albania—Tirana outreach impacts 13,000 people for Christ

The summer outreach program in Tirana, Albania was a great success. In July, Bible League and Campus Crusade for Christ partnered with local churches to engage over 13,000 people in a Bible study, with Scriptures and training materials supplied by Bible League.

The vision of this outreach was to see every person in Tirana—Albania’s capital and largest city—have the opportunity to hear the Gospel through God’s Word.

Albania has Europe’s youngest population, with more than 24 percent of its 3.6 million people under the age of 14.

“The youth and their families are in desperate need of the transforming power of God’s Word,” says Bible League’s Ministry Director for Central/Eastern Europe.

Over the past 10 years, Bible League’s Project Philip Bible study program has been particularly effective in impacting children and the youth in Albania.

“My name is Albarina Ndoj. Like every child I was full of desires and dreams. I found my life meaningless and I tried to seek for something to make me feel good.

When I was 14 years old, someone came to my home and preached the Gospel to me. I studied the booklets provided by Bible League, like “Who is God”, “Discovery series” and the “Practical Bible Study”. They have been a blessing to me.

Now, I feel great joy as I know Jesus was the greatest of all. I am happy in Christ and I praise Him every day!”—says Albarina, a Project Philip graduate.

God is powerfully transforming the land of Albania. Evangelical churches have continued to grow since the dramatic fall of the Communist rule in 1991. Bible League currently partners with 135 (out of 185) evangelical churches in Albania, envisioning to place a Bible in each Albanian home.
