Australia—28,561 Bibles placed with persecuted Christians
“Thank you Bible League for all the work you do to help us, both raising the awareness of the great need for Bibles for our persecuted brothers and sisters, as well as seeing that the Bibles are distributed to those who need them the most. Without your work there is no way we could get the job done."

The suffering and the needs of persecuted Christians has always been a burden in the hearts of those involved in Bible League’s ministry. Suffering is part of following Christ—the way of the cross. But we strongly believe that the Scripture, God's eternal light, shines out any darkness. It gives believers true hope and strength. Because of this, Bible League is committed to respond to the need of persecuted Christians.
Since 1998, Bible League (Australian office) has been able to provide a total of 258,979 Bibles with persecuted Christians in over 30 countries—half of the 60 countries where persecution of Christians occurs.
We would not have accomplished this without the valuable partnerships of committed churches in Australia who took part in our Bibles for the Persecuted program.
In 2006 alone (1 Sept 2006 - 31 Aug 2007), there were a total of 24,841 Aussie Christians (557 churches and 1,008 individuals) united to support persecuted Christians through the Bibles for the Persecuted Program. Through prayers and gifts, Aussie Christians were able to personally identify with the persecuted Christians, provide great encouragement and help place 28,561 Bibles with persecuted Christians.
“On behalf of the persecuted church we say 'Thank you!'," says the Missions Director of the Peninsula Christian Church. "Even if we collected the money needed to buy the Bibles we wouldn’t have the network set up to distribute them the way you do... Without your work there is no way we could get the job done.”
Bibles for the Persecuted program is on again this year. If your church or Bible study group would like to join the program—fully supported with promotional resources, 21-day devotional booklets and Bible shaped money-boxes, please register below.

Jesus—the living Word of God—is the light of the world. As Christians, we all have seen this light that strengthens us and gives us hope every day.
But for millions of persecuted Christians in more than 60 countries, their world is a dark place. They are oppressed by religious forces; rejected by countrymen; tortured and imprisoned.
But when persecuted Christians receive Bibles amidst this darkness, God’s light will give them eternal hope and boldness, which sustains and comforts them.
Empowered by God’s Word, they will continue to pass on this hope and let God’s light shine out the darkness.
| Now, YOU CAN HELP bring this light to persecuted Christians through prayer and providing Bibles by ordering the free 21-day prayer and study devotional booklet "A LIGHT IN THE DARK". |
