Bible League E-news
13/08/2008 Issue # 94 Past Issues

All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth.
Colossians 1:6

As Paul was writing this letter to the Gentiles in Colosse, the message of the Gospel was spreading throughout the world. As people heard, understood and responded to God’s grace their lives were transformed.

The “Good News” of the Gospel is not just a catchy line. It reflects what happens when we hear and understand God’s Word in all it’s truth— we have a complete inner heart transformation. Our lives are no longer the same. We begin to bear spiritual fruit such as peace, patience, goodness and joy—things we never truly experienced apart from God.

In this week’s Enews you will read about a Bible League Project Philip coodinator, Pastor Joash, from Uganda. He recently visited Australia and shared with Bible League workers how the Gospel message is spreading rapidly throughout his region and changing the lives of so many people. Through Bible League’s Project Philip Bible studies in Uganda people are coming to know Jesus Christ.

You will also read how there is a desperate need for more Bibles in Uganda. People need God’s Word so they may continue to bear good fruit and share God’s Word with others.

May you be blessed by this week’s Enews and encouraged to continue sharing the Gospel by providing Bibles.

Bible League Highlights

The many attempts to silence the gospel message for over 2,000 years have failed. Today, at least 250 million Christians face persecution, harassment, heavy fines, torture, imprisonment, rejection and some are even killed—just for following Jesus.

But God’s Word is not chained. God’s Word speaks powerfully into the lives of persecuted Christians. His Word gives them hope for the future and empowers them to share God’s Word with others.

Prayer is a powerful weapon we can use to uplift, protect and strengthen persecuted Christians through the power of the Holy Spirit.

..Help "break chains" now!
..PRAY...Pray for the needy situations in 21 STORIES. Use the “What If” to
..put yourself in their shoes, to gain insight into their world.

ENGAGE... Engage your church members to get involved as individuals, families, small groups or as a church community. Each church member will be able to identify with and to personally provide encouragement to persecuted Christians around the world.
