PERU - Bible stories bring children to Jesus hope
When you first look at Agata, she looks identical to the thousands of other elderly Peruvian women. She is 77-years-old and unlike many in her community, she is utterly committed to reaching others with the love of Christ through Bible stories.
She clasps her wizened hands to her chest as she speaks. “There is so much pain in the eyes of children in my community," shares Agata. "My heart has always been to place hope and joy into their lives by teaching them to follow Jesus Christ. So, when Bible League International materials became available to my village, God answered my prayers! Now, I have Bibles and New Testaments for the children and they come to my home with excitement to hear stories of Jesus. I have never seen a response to the Gospel like the one I'm seeing now and I've been serving to reach the lost my entire life.”
It's a beautiful sight to behold, as happy Peruvian children crowd around Agata as she reads to them from the Bible. The eager faces of the boys and girls display how hungry for—and open to—the Gospel they are. For every Agata, there are hundreds more who want to spread the Good News of Jesus. Their only limitation is the lack of Bibles and Bible study materials.
Will you help to place God's Word in Latin America?
Thank you for your gifts and prayers.
