NICARAGUA - Bible study saves orphan
Reading the Bible brought love to Manuel’s heart for the first time in his life during his teenage years. Manuel’s early life in Nicaragua was a nightmare. His parents were murdered when he was an infant and he was sent to live with a poor, violent family. His foster father abused this young man who yearned only for love and acceptance. The violence and rejection that he endured hardened his heart for many years.
"I ran away from anything promising love," Manuel says. "But when I began reading about Jesus and seeing that Christians really did care for me, I accepted God as my Father. Now, I spend time at the altar with a thankful heart and continue learning to live as a Christian through the Bible teachings I attend. I am learning to forgive no matter what harm others have caused me. Christ has made all the difference in my life."
Manuel is connected with a local church that partners with Bible League International. We provide his church with Bibles, Bible study materials, and training in evangelism and discipleship. They participate in the Great Commission, using Bible League International materials and support to engage people like Manuel in Bible Study and lead them to the Lord.
Thank you for your gifts and prayers.
