Day 13 - Mongolia

Leaving everything to follow Christ

When Naya was invited by a friend to attend a Project Philip Bible study group she didn’t expect that her life would change so quickly.

“My heart became quiet as the group sang songs,” she said. “Then they sang ‘Amazing Grace’. It was sudden and unexpected that my heart felt God’s love for me. That night everything changed – my life changed, my knowledge of God changed and I became a new person in Jesus Christ. I had much to learn and a long road ahead but I promised God to be faithful.”

It was a difficult decision for Naya to abandon Buddhism because it also meant leaving her family.

“My husband gave me a choice – a family, a home and Buddhism or Jesus Christ,” she says. “That was the most difficult week of my life. When I told him that I couldn't renounce Jesus Christ, he packed my things and asked me to leave.”

Despite this, Naya continues to follow Jesus. She finds strength in reading God’s Word and meeting with believers.

What percentage of Mongolia’s territory is above 1,000 metres sea level?

Eighty percent of Mongolia’s territory is about 1,000 metres above sea level because of the extensive range of mountains and hills throughout the country.

On the other hand, Australia’s land averages only 330 metres above sea level—the lowest of all the word’s continents.
