ECUADOR – Sow In Tears, Harvest In Joy
For Lili, God’s Word is a treasure. She is grateful for the Bible study resources she receives from Bible League — vital for evangelism in Ecuador’s small community of del Carmen!
“At 14, I left home to live with an older man,” shares Lili. “I drank alcohol and was filled with depression.” Not long after moving in, Lili was trapped in an abusive relationship. At 15, she had a son with this man—leading her to feelings of fear and suicide.
“That is when a Christian woman shared the love of Christ with me,” she adds. “I surrendered my life to the Lord.” God gave her strength to leave the abusive relationship and she eventually married a Christian man. He encouraged her to take Bible League International’s evangelism training in Quito. And she did! With a humble spirit, she tells everyone how God rescued her and restored her family!
Today, Lili ministers in an area of Ecuador (del Carmen) where no one else wants to go. She first began sharing the Gospel with children under a big tree using a fallen branch as a bench with resources provided by Bible League International. Now, many kids gather each week. She even has seven women committed to meeting weekly for Bible study. She rejoices, “There are no accidents with God. What we sow in tears, we will harvest in joy.”
