ALBANIA: Bible Study Powerhouse

Bible study was the conduit to salvation for Klodian Bega. Klodian was just a baby when Albania was emerging from 45 years of Communist rule. He was blessed to have been born in Korça (pronounced Kor-cha), the birth place of evangelical Christianity in Albania in the 1800s. He participated in Bible Studies from a young age and accepted Jesus Christ into his heart at 10 years of age.

Today, this 20-year-old Korça University student is on fire for God. He impacts his school, his family, and his entire community through his example of Christian living and his dedication to leading others in the kind of Bible Study that he loved as a child.

“I grew much in my faith as I studied God’s Word,” says Klodian. “My faith really became a living part of my everyday life in Albania.”

As such, Klodian was eager to share it with others. “After I began applying the Bible in my daily life, I wanted to teach others,” he explains. “I started a Bible study group using the same Project Philip Bible League study booklets I had used.

“Day by day, people in the group understand the goodness of God in their lives. Still, it is difficult to break through Muslim barriers in an area predominately Muslim.”

Albania’s evangelical Christian community comprises less than one percent of the entire population; more than 50% of Albania’s 3.5 million people are Muslim.
