We make Scriptures available to the right people: Christian communities where there is a shortage of Bibles, persecuted Christians and unreached people groups.

Worldwide shortage of Bibles puts believers at risk

“We need God’s Word to GROW”

The worldwide shortage continues to intensify as thousands more become believers in Jesus Christ everyday.

In many countries, within the Christian community, there are not enough Bibles for every church member to have their own copy. Many cannot afford to buy one. Without the Bible, these Christians struggle further to:

  • grow in faith
  • withstand persecution
  • reach out to others

Although no one can know the exact number, Bible League estimates that at least 2 billion people in our world will eagerly receive and read the Scriptures if presented with the opportunity. A significant number of these would become believers in Jesus Christ through this ministry.

Persecuted Christians

“We need God’s Word to SUSTAIN SUFFERING”

More than 200 million Christians in 60 countries are hunted, imprisoned, banished, fined, denied jobs and education, physically tortured and brutally killed - just because they are Christians.

Yet, these persecuted Christians do not ask us to pray for the persecution to end. Instead, they plead, "Pray for us and send us Bibles.” God’s Word gives them the strength to endure and encourages them in their faith.

Currently there are millions of persecuted Christians who do not have Bibles they can turn to for strength in the midst of their suffering. Some church leaders teach from the memorised Bible verses they can remember because their Bibles were burnt or lost during war.

Bible League is responding to their plea and we invite you to join us to provide Bibles for the Persecuted Christians

Unreached People Groups

“We need God’s Word to COME TO FAITH ”

"When I hear God talk in another tongue, it is good. When I hear it in my own tongue, it is very good for it spears my inside," says a Christian who received God's Word for the first time.

There are at least 6,600 of the worlds 15,918 ethnic people groups have never heard the Gospel message. Some 2.6 billion people of the world’s 6.5 billion people have not had the opportunity to respond to the message of God’s Word.*

The Huasteca Nahuatl people of south-eastern Mexico have minimal contact with the industrialized world, living by superstitions, without a Bible in a language they understand best. In 2006, for the FIRST time, the 200,000 Huasteca Nahuatl people can "hear" God speaking directly to them. We accomplish this by partnering with Wycliffe Bible Translators to publish their newly translated Scriptures.

Rather than randomly distribute Bibles, we strategically places Bibles through the right way: combining evangelism and discipleship. Click to read more about our Project Philip and Church Planter Training program.
