Africa & Middle East
Despite significant challenges in different countries in Africa—complex linguistic context, poor economy, increased radicalisation of Muslims and so on—positive ministry results are yielded. Christians in Nigeria, Sudan and Ethiopia have been trained to conduct Bible study groups among their neighbours to share the good news. More Christians are also actively involved in personal disciplined study of the Bible. The outcome is that Christians are more committed in their faith and new souls are won to Christ and His Church.
It might be surprising to learn that nearly 50% of Africans are Christians, nevertheless, millions of African Christians are still waiting for their own Bible. Fewer than one in twenty Ethiopian Christians have their own Bible. They need God’s Word to sustain their faith. Will you help end the Bible famine? |

Latin America
The situation in Latin America is mixed but we can rejoice. There are more than 40 million and 8 million people in Colombia and Dominican Republic who do not know Jesus but God has enabled us to reach them through the Project Philip Bible study program.
The collaboration with education institutions, companies and local churches in Ecuador to distribute materials has yielded a great harvest. God’s Word is also spreading in over 50 indigenous language groups (out of 250) in Mexico through Project Philip and the Church Planters Training program. Most of all, God led us to open an office in Peru in 2005 where we were privileged to fund 90% of the Scriptures placed among 40 (out of 98) distinct ethnic groups through the partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators.
God is the Lord of all nations and we are committed to place His Word to all of His people. Will you help nourish people with God’s Word? |

Asia
In China, both Project Philip for women and the Children’s Bible stories have made the Word of God go deeper into the people’s heart as they apply it to their lives—some children stopped telling lies or deceiving their parents. God even uses these Bible stories to touch the hearts of the parents and grandparents who are reading the stories together with their children! Further north in the country of Mongolia, God’s Word is also advancing. In the past few years new churches are planted and we are even able to print 10,000 copies of Mongolian Bibles to be placed in the hands of Mongolian Christians.
While God’s Word is growing and His kingdom expanding in Southeast Asia, so does the resistance from spiritual darkness—the destruction of the lives and value system in Cambodia in the past 30 years; the deep combination of cultural identity of the Thai with Buddhism locks people in spiritual deception; natural disasters in the Philippines made physical and spiritual restoration an urgent need. Yet, we see God’s sovereign rule over these areas as He made Bible League a reliable supplier of Bibles to these people.
In South Asia, the Holy Spirit is moving people to read God’s Word and commit to faith. Bible hunger is severe—if the number of Christians in India were to increase by 1% of the population, we would be confronted by a need for over 10 million Bibles. People in Nepal, even Hindus and Buddhists, are responding to the Gospel and they are waiting for more Bibles; In the rural area of Sri Lanka, even illiterate people are being taught to read and write so that they may read God’s Word!
God has lit the Gospel fire amongst His people in Asia and we are committed to pass it on. Will you join? |

Central & Eastern Europe
For many Church Planters in Central and Eastern Europe, it is an uphill battle in reaching their community with the love of Christ. The Evangelical churches here face strong opposition from Orthodox priests and new challenges from the insurgence of Islam throughout the region. Sin has gripped families, especially those who have never heard the Gospel. Such opposition, however, has not stopped God’s kingdom from advancing. More than 1,000 churches have been planted in Romania as a direct result of Bible League training over the past 10 years. Strong relationships have also been built between Bible League and many evangelical churches in Serbia & Montenegro (now separated) since 2002.
God's Word is powerfully advancing in this area, are you willing to join this exciting ministry and let more people come to Jesus? |

Russia & CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States)
In many of post-communist countries of Eurasia the number of believers and churches is growing but not at the pace of the death rate of the population. Also, some countries are tightening legal controls over the spread of evangelical Christianity while others are experiencing the influx of radical Islamic influence as well as the drug problem. The harvest in this area is great but the workers are few.
In spite of great difficulty, God is faithful in leading us to begin developing ministry in regions where we had not yet worked. More Bible study groups are formed and churches established. People’s lives changed because of God’s Word.
“Drugs destroyed my life but the Almighty Lord changed everything,” said a brother in Russia. “I am always surprised at the Lord’s mercy! People are eager to hear the Word of God! And materials of the Project Philip program are the best way to tell them about it,” says another.
People's lives are transformed because of God's Word. Will you help more people to know about God? |
