Ministry Overview - Scriptures & Training

Since being founded in 1938, Bible League is one of the world’s largest evangelical, non-denominational Bibles placement ministries. This year, with help from people like you around the world, we will place God’s Word in about 120 languages and in 60 countries. By partnering in prayer and financial support, every Christian can participate to help make this a reality.

Imagine a world where…

...every person has a Bible

Today, millions of people are asking about Jesus. We provide God’s Word for those who want it, especially where the Bible is scarce, unaffordable or they are persecuted and prohibited from receiving it.

The worldwide shortage of Bibles continues to intensify as thousands more become believers in Jesus Christ everyday. Bible League estimates that at least 2 billion people in our world would eagerly receive and read the Bible if presented with the opportunity. A significant number of these would become believers in Jesus Christ through this ministry.

...every neighbourhood has a Bible study

Bible League serves the local church and provides God’s Word (Bibles, Study Bibles, Children’s Bibles, New Testaments and Bible Portions) and training, to engage people in Bible study—to “go and make disciples”.

Our strategy "Project Philip", named after the story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 trains ordinary church members to lead evangelism and discipleship Bible studies.

"Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. "How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:30b-31)

Together with family and friends, side-by-side they study God's Word. As they complete the lessons, their interest in the Bible increases, their relationship with the local church is strengthened, and many come to faith in Christ. Those who complete the Bible studies receive their own copy of God’s Word in their own language. The Bible they receive and the local church fellowship they join, feeds their new faith.

The Bible study and discipleship process is essential. Faith that is not grounded in God's Word and nurtured by fellowship with other Christians is like a seed sown on rocky soil. It has no root, so it cannot last.

...every community has a thriving church

Local believers, chosen by their churches, are empowered through “Church Planter Training” and supplied with Bibles and study materials so they establish a church in an unchurched area.

Local Church Planters know their people, the language and culture in the areas where they work. Their hearts are on fire to reach the lost. They put God's Word in the hands of those who are seeking. Then they follow up—teaching, answering questions and guiding the understanding of people until they are ready to put their faith in Christ.

The result is that people have the opportunity to join a thriving church firmly grounded in God’s Word. The local church helps transform converts into disciples by providing an environment for them to grow in their faith and use their God-given gifts. Lives are being transformed—and thousands of new churches are being multiplied each year!
